You may export your online data to a CSV file (which can be opened using Excel), by clicking on the Backup (csv) option from the Web application. Note: the menu is available for the administrator. only

The file contains the different sections into subsequent rows, there cannot be reimported. But those sections can be used in the import templates provided with the desktop application

Additional note: Backups of online databases are done on a regular basis with a secured online service
